Lisa Smosarski is the award-winning editor-in-chief of Stylist. Launched under Lisa’s editorship in October 2009, Stylist was the first freemium weekly women’s magazine. Over the past decade Stylist has received almost 200 industry awards and is now one of the UK’s biggest women’s media brands. As well as engaging women across the magazine, website, social and through events, Lisa has used Stylist to campaign on behalf of the audience. Big initiatives include Fair Game for Women in Sport, a campaign to end sexism and improve financing to women’s sports, Love Women – a project to encourage more inclusivity and diversity within women’s advertising and media, and most recently Work It Out, an initiative to support the audience’s mental health whilst navigating the new working environment.
Lisa is also a board director at The Stylist Group and the host of podcast Love Letter To My Friend. Lisa is regularly called for comment on a variety of topics including feminism and women’s rights, career expertise and fashion commentary. Most recently she was part of Radio 4’s Kindness Experiment, offering advice and comment on kindness in leadership.
Prior to Stylist, Lisa edited more!, bliss and Smash Hits. She was also the presenter for Channel 4’s Make Me A Grown Up, launch editor of mykindaplace.com, the author of The Smart Girls’ Guide To Friends and has been a contributor to many UK magazines.
