From the success of Netflix's Heartstopper to more openly LGBTQ+ athletes in sport, positive representation of marginalised communities in the media is helping shift established narratives and break down long-held mistruths. But with more to be done, how do we maintain momentum as we move towards a society that disregards tired stereotypes and sees the real human value in our differences? This session explores the responsibility of media owners in continuing to positively represent LGBTQ+ experiences, and their role in inspiring the creation a society where people can all be seen and valued for who they truly are.
